Internships and research opportunities can help you prepare for your career and make you a more competitive applicant.  Additionally, if you plan on continuing your education, we strongly recommend pursuing internships. Consider revisiting this idea in your second year if you are planning to spend the next four years at Davis. Here is a list of resources that you can use to help prepare yourself for your future career.
 
The ETX Career and Job Opportunities handbook
UC Davis is one of the top public research universities, allowing undergraduate students to receive hands-on research experience. Students majoring in environmental toxicology have the opportunity to explore many different areas of the major through research, including the toxicity, chemistry, environmental fate, and environmental stress of toxicants and pollutants.

ETX Job and Internship Newsletter
The ETX Advising Team prepares a regular newsletter containing internships and jobs that are available now that fit the interests of environmental toxicology students. The newsletter includes other opportunities and announcements relevant to environmental toxicology students.

Undergraduate Lab Research in Environmental Toxicology
UC Davis is one of the top public research universities, allowing undergraduate students to receive hands-on research experience. Undergraduate Research Center
Encourages and facilitates research opportunities for undergraduates. Offers advising information sessions, funding, programs, and conferences to support undergraduate involvement at one of the top research universities.

The Internship and Career Center
The ICC is a very useful campus resource that can help you with finding a job or internship, assisting you with drafting and editing your resume, and helping you with job interviews.  They sponsor several large Career Fairs on campus each year and offer numerous workshops throughout the year on a variety of career and internship topics.

Society of Toxicology:  Resource Guide to Careers in Toxicology
The Society of Toxicology (SOT) is a professional and scholarly organization of scientists from academic institutions, government, and industry representing the great variety of scientists who practice toxicology in the US and abroad.
