The Environmental Toxicology major applies knowledge of chemical and biological principles to real-world problems. Environmental Toxicology is the study of chemicals , whether made-made or naturally occurring, and their effects on the environment, as well as the organisms that inhabit it.
Students in the major take courses that require hands-on analytical chemistry and biochemical lab work, and are encouraged to participate in internships. Job opportunities for our graduates include, but are certainly not limited to private environmental consulting, government and regulatory work, environmental field research, academia, biotechnology research and development, and pharmaceuticals.
