Advising Information
Advising in the ETOX department has three tiers of advisors: the undergraduate staff adviser, faculty advisers, and peer advisers. If you have any questions, make an appointment to meet with a staff or faculty adviser, or drop-in during open peer advising hours.
Undergraduate Handbook
The undergraduate handbook contains up-to-date information regarding course descriptions, faculty research, major and minor requirements, major emphases, and sample study plans.
ETOX Major
The Environmental Toxicology major is the first of its kind anywhere in the world and is the only undergraduate environmental toxicology major in the University of California system. Today, UC Davis is known as the world's leader in the field of environmental toxicology. Students considering the ETX major would have an interest in the environmental/ecological sciences and/or the human or animal health sciences, as it is an excellent preparation for graduate or professional school. With the growing environmental problems we face today, you will obtain the cutting‐edge education needed to make a significant impact on the future of the world!
ETOX Minor
A minor in the right area can enhance an already existing major and make you well-rounded as well as more marketable. Students who might consider an Environmental Toxicology minor generally would be those majoring in animal science, biological sciences, chemistry, environmental engineering, other environmental majors, genetics, or the health sciences.
