Dr. Marder received her B.S. degree in ETX from UCD (2011), where she received citations for outstanding service for two years and the Outstanding Senior Award upon graduation. She went on to receive M.S. (2014) and Ph.D. (2015) degrees in Environmental Health Sciences from Emory University. Following postdoctoral work at Emory University's School of Medicine, Elizabeth returned to California in 2017 to join the CalEPA's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) as a staff scientist. She worked with OEHHA until late 2023, at which time she transferred to the California Department of Public Health, where she now leads equity-based environmental health investigations. Elizabeth began guest lecturing for our Department in 2017, and since joining us as an adjunct faculty member in 2021, she has been lead instructor for ETX 135 (Health Risk Assessment of Toxicants) with excellent student evaluations, mentoring numerous students, and connecting our students with public service internships and careers. In addition, she has provided much appreciated ideas and enthusiasm for departmental activities including Picnic Day, the spring awards ceremony, and the celebration of our 50th year of the ETX major.
