Welcome to the new ETX Vice-Chairs!

We are also excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Patricia Oteiza as Vice-Chair for merits/promotions and Dr. Michele La Merrill as Vice Chair for teaching/curriculum. Both distinguished members are already integral to our department at UC Davis. Dr. Oteiza with a well-established track record, has significantly advanced our understanding of the interplay between nutrition and toxicology. Her impactful research, particularly in elucidating the role of metals in neurodevelopment, has garnered widespread recognition.

Dr. La Merrill, a prominent figure in environmental health sciences, has made substantial contributions to our department’s mission. Her research on the impact of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on human health has positioned her as a leader in the field. Dr. La Merrill’s commitment to enhancing the educational experience in ETX is further exemplified by her acceptance of the role of Lead Faculty Advisor. We look forward to the combined positive impact of their leadership on our department and its continued growth.
