Open Position - Assoc Adjunct Professor

The Department of Environmental Toxicology in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of California, Davis is recruiting for an Associate Adjunct Professor.

The appointee is will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate classes. In addition, the appointee will participate in advising graduate student as well as maintaining an active research program.

TEACHING: The candidate will regularly participate in teaching courses that support the Forensic Science Graduate Program and undergraduate majors offered by the department. Specific examples of possible teaching contributions include:

FOR200 - Fundamental Concepts of Forensic Science (3 units). FOR278 (ETX278) - Molecular Techniques (3 units).

In addition, the department anticipates that there will be multiple opportunities to participate as instructor, co-instructor, or guest lecturer in several other courses as well.

RESEARCH: Appointee will be performing cutting edge proteomic research on personal identification here that will be a major asset to the campus Forensic Science Program.

SERVICE: Appointee to participate in advising graduate students, including as a major professor, thesis/dissertation committee member, and qualifying exam committee member. Appointee will also be expected to supervise undergraduate research and to serve on departmental and graduate group committees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Forensic Science, Environmental Toxicology or a related field. The candidate should have the experience to develop and instruct undergraduate and graduate courses and experience in teaching and mentoring students. Evidence of research excellence is expected. Candidate research and teaching experience to be oriented to forensic science applications.

SALARY:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Successful candidate will be expected to secure extramural funding and grants to cover salary.

This position is WOS.  Candidate can cover salary by securing their own extramural funding and grants.
